Last February I found out that my son has got a rare pathology of the circulatory system. Suddenly he has got high blood pressure in the portal vein which is passes through the blood from the internal organs to the liver, as a result of this he has got esophageal varicose, as a consequence he has got bleeding. We couldn’t stop this bleeding at all. Constantly we had to stay in hospitals. Son got a range of operations, but they were unsuccessful, as his vessels again were expanded. The doctors said that he needs another operation on his vessels to make artificial sections of veins to round about damaged. But it didn't help. On that moment it was impossible to have more operations, as a result my son has got thrombophilia (predisposition for blood clots). We were sent home from a hospital to wait, when he will get better. However, internal bleeding can be started at any time. My son’s got the fourth stage of varicose already. We have no idea what to wait any more and what sequel he can get tomorrow. Our doctor advises to have an examination abroad. I am just a single mother who is looking after the son and have no chance to get this type of money to cover all expenses to check up. I can’t pay everything by myself. Please, we really need a help!

Alistair Baker, a leading specialist of Pediatric Hepatology, King's College Hospital (London): "The child condition is very serious, he needs a full examination. We will provide the diagnostics for portal hypertension and other vascular system, check up activity of blood plaque and liver condition. We will be able to say what treatment plan he needs exactly only when full examination will be done".

Styopa Nyustrem has returned home after successful treatment in the United Kingdom. The boy underwent an operation – ligation of the oesophageal varices – at the Kings College Hospital in London. Styopa is now feeling well.

Rusfond (rusfond.ru) helped to raise the necessary funds for treatment.

Styopa's mother, Elena, thanks everyone who helped him.
