Anna was diagnosed with leukemia when she was 4 years old. Anna completed a full course of medical treatment and entered into remission. 5 years later leukemia came back again. Anna was referred to the Raisa Gorbacheva Scientific-Research Institute of Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Transplantology in St. Petersburg to undergo a bone marrow transplantation. Transplantation was completed successfully, donor bone marrow was well tolerated and it functioned well until now. After the transplantation Anna started experiencing a severe complication – graft-versus-host disease (GVHD). Her skin got affected and became so fragile, that it would tear from any contact or touching. Anna experienced severe pain, sometimes she couldn't walk as she was unable to put her shoes on. She then started to have scarring and stigmas on her body. We tried all available treatment methods including ointments, photopheresis (blood ultraviolet radiation exposure) and other available modern medicine. Sadly, nothing helped. But luckily, we discovered that there was a new therapy method developed in London helping treat as complex GVHD as Ania has. Our doctors recommend us to undertake this treatment course due to its unavailability in Russia. Please, help us cure Ania!

Haematologist Stephen Mackinnon (Harley Street at University College Hospital, London): «Anna continues to experience critical sclerotic skin lesions. There is a medicine available, that Anna never had before and which from my point of view, might help her. This medical therapy is carried out under supervision of our practitioners».
Anya Burilova received medical treatment
On the 25th of March here, on this website, we told the story of 16-years-old Anya Burilova from Saint-Petersburg. Anya suffers from an acute lymphoblastic leukemia, complication after bone marrow transplantation – graft-versus-host. Medical treatment is required in Harley Street at University College Hospital (London). The clinic presented the family with a bill in the amount of £43,602. Burilova’s family doesn’t have this much money. We are happy to announce that required amount has been successfully raised – Rusfond (rusfond.ru) has helped. £9,660.51 has been raised by Rusfond UK donors.
The girl received medical treatment. Anya’s relatives are very grateful to everybody who has helped them. Please, accept our gratitude, dear friends!
