When Gregory was born it became clear that his left kidney was not functioning and it had to be removed- not long after, Gregory began having problems with his bladder and ureters. My son has already endured six severe abdominal surgeries in his young life; during a five year period, Gregory has had to undergo a painful procedure under local anaesthetic to stimulate the urinary system every two to three months.  These procedures have been unsuccessful and sutures and scars left by the multiple surgeries squeezed his urethra to the point where it almost closed and a catheter to drain the urine had to be placed into his body.  The situation is so complicated that we have been denied help in Germany and Israel. My research brought me to Dr Mushtaq in London who has experience in treating this kind of disease. We visited and consulted him in June.  After the examination, the Doctor invited Gregory for surgery with the realistic hope that after it everything will be fine.  We are very excited, however, a lack of money is currently keeping our happiness at bay.  I am a single mother and it is impossible for me to work as my child needs constant care. Please help us! Margarita Smirnova, Moscow.

Dr Imran Mustaq, Consultant Urologist, Portland Children's Hospital (London, UK): "We will carry urethroplasty (restoration of the lumen). Full recovery of the patient is possible in the future."

Gregory Sokolov returned home after successful treatment undertaken at Portland Hospital (London). The boy has had two surgeries. He feels well now. His doctors are happy with the result.
Gregory’s mother, Margarita, is very grateful for everyone’s help.
