This happened a year ago. Suddenly Maksim started to have a high temperature and lumps appeared on his neck. The blood test results were poor and we were sent for further medical examination. And then they found the huge tumour in his chest. On the 1st of August the diagnosis was formed and the treatment started straight away. At first it was working, but after the fifth cycle of chemotherapy his condition has suddenly worsened and the illness started to progress. The doctors told us that bone marrow transplantation was required. But first of all we had to achieve remission, while the tumour growth was not decreasing. We came to St. Petersburg, where my son completed the chemotherapy cycle, but the new tumour nidus appeared what caused further complications. The boy became weaker and he will not be able to survive the transplantation. The only thing that would save him is a BRENTUXIMAB, the latest drug which would help to kill the tumour. But it is not available in our country. We have to go to Harley Street Clinic in London to get it, but we do not have money for treatment abroad. Maksim has a little brother, who is waiting for him to come home healthy and happy. Please help us!

Vadim Kozlov, the oncologist of R. M. Gorbacheva Research Institute of Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Transplantology (Saint-Petersburg): «Maksim is prescribed BRENTUXIMAB, a drug specially developed for lymphoma treatment in case of refractory disease (insusceptible of medical treatment). This drug is not registered in Russia. After the BRENTUXIMAB therapy Maksim will return to us for bone marrow autotransplantation. We have already harvested his cells for transpantation.

25.04.14 Maksim Rzheusskiy will receive a bone marrow transplant from an unrelated donor before his treatment in London. This decision was made by the council of physicians of the Institute for R. M. Gorbacheva Research Institute of Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Transplantology (Saint-Petersburg). When Maksim recovers from the operation, he will continue the treatment at the Harley Street Clinic in London. The parents of Maksim, Tatiana and Mikhail, are grateful to the Channel One audience and the Rusfond readers for their help!
