Arseny was diagnosed with lymphoblastic leukemia in autumn 2010. We have turned to you with a request to help fund the treatment, you have helped and we feel very grateful! Doctors helped Arseny to achieve sustained remission. During the last year we spent most of the time at home, visited the clinic only for examinations and medical procedures, and in December this difficult treatment finally came to an end. But in March my son started to show alarming symptoms - double vision, different sized pupils. We had MRI done at the local clinic, and some sort of formation was found in Arseny’s head. Neurosurgeons in Saratov said there was no cause for concern, but we sent the scans to London. Our oncologist told us to come to London and get the examination immediately. That’s what we did. Unfortunately, the doctor had concluded that Arseny suffers from acute leukemia. But because the illness is in its early stage and the bone marrow hasn’t been affected, the prognosis for this disease is positive, given the fact that the treatment will be received on time. Please, help to raise money for medical expenses, we are our only hope! Boris Kruglov, Saratov Oblast.

Treatment received on time

Ayad Atra, pediatric hematologist at Harley Street Clinic (London, United Kingdom): “The child suffers from a very rare type of acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Radiotherapy will be used, and the treatment will follow a very special protocol. It’s an intensive type of treatment, that requires a long hospital stay. The possibility of bone marrow transplant will be considered depending on the reaction the therapy will give”.
